Owen Greaves is a futurist who is a a technology man with a love for helping people understand what's happening, what is coming and how to adopt change. He helps people make the paradigm shift less painful when it comes to trends in media and business on the Internet.  He holds workshops locally in his community, soon to be online in the form of a webinar He doesn’t call himself a writer, but he is a typist. He has written a short free eBook called, The New Technology – The End of Mankind? — The Beginning. He’s a public speaker and think-tank leader. He loves to make people think, in the end that’s where creativity comes from, boat loads of thinking.

Living in this part of the world has it's challenges, but for the most part, I am very blessed an lucky to be on the right side of the grass. About three years ago I was spit out of the corporate sector, and frankly, I would like to say it was a good thing, but at the time is wasn't. Today, I can say things are better than they were then, I've been on my own as a Futurist / Consultant, I work from my home which is located on a small foothill in the Fraser Valley with a beautiful view, about 40 miles East of Vancouver.

A typical day for me is rather simple, I awake at 5:30AM and put the coffee on, drive my wife to her workplace and then home again. The first activity once back is to check email and then check the blog for various items. Once the administrative duties have been completed I get to a to-do list prepared the day before, usually lots of writing & research. I spend roughly 10 hours a day on the Internet, that's where I make my money and my contacts. I live on Twitter, I hate FaceBook but you have to be there, and I also network on LinkedIn.

I am currently writing a book on The Open & Free Business Model, it's taking much longer than I had wished, but I do want it to be successful so I'll pay the price. In fact, if you wish to help me write the book, you can email me for details. I have a free ebook I wrote a few years ago on Nanotechnology primarily, there is so much to discuss on that topic.

By the time 3PM comes around, I'm off to pick my better half from her work, then home, I make supper and we visit for awhile before we go about our activities again. For me, back to research & writing : )
